IMPORTANT: Please read information below to assist you in completing your application online.

Please read the Funding Guidelines before starting your application paying particular attention to the eligibility criteria and assessment criteria. To access the Funding Guidelines go to http://health.act.gov.au/hpgrants.

You may like to consider drafting your application in a word processing document so that you can just cut and paste your answers into the application form when you are ready.

You may begin anywhere in the application form. Please ensure you save as you go.

Using the SmartyGrants online application system:

Navigating through the application form:

On every screen (page of the form) you will find a Form Navigation contents box, this links directly to every page of the application. Click the link to jump directly to the page you want.

You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application Please note that your application form is saved every time you navigate between pages.

Saving a draft application and returning later:

If at any stage you wish to save your application and close it, click Save and Close. To resume your application at any time prior to the closing time, simply log back into your account. Once you log back in you can click on My Submissions to find a listing of all applications you have started or submitted.

It is highly recommended that you click Save every 10–15 minutes when filling out an application.

For security reasons you will be logged out of your application if 60 minutes has elapsed and you have not saved your progress or navigated between pages. When you are logged out of the system you will lose any changes you have made to that page that have not been saved. To avoid this happening, simply click Save periodically if you are spending a long time working on one page of the application.

You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF. Click on the 'Download' button located at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

Word Limits:

If a word limit has been specified for an answer, you will not be able to submit your application unless the response is within this limit. Please note that your current word count is displayed for questions where word limits apply.

Attachments and supporting documents:

You will need to upload attachments (e.g. quotes, letters of support) to support your application. This is very simple but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer. If you are having technical issues and are not able to upload a document please contact SmartyGrants for support.

When attaching files, please allow for sufficient time for the file to be uploaded. You should not navigate to another page until the file has been successfully attached, otherwise the file upload will be cancelled. Please note there is a maximum file limit of 25MB. However, it is strongly recommended you try to keep files under 5MB.

Completing an application as a group/team:

A number of people can work on an application using the same log in details as long as only one person is working at a time. Ensure you save as you go.

Reviewing your application:

When you have completed the last page of the application form you can click Review in the navigation panel. This will display your application in the way it will appear to the assessment panel.

To print a copy of your form before submitting it, click on "Download PDF".

Submitting your application:

Please note you will not be able to make any changes to your application after you have submitted it. You can log into SmartyGrants at any time and view your completed application after submitting it.

If there are problems with your application form it will not submit and problem issues will be highlighted. You can correct the problem by clicking Go to Question. Once you have made the necessary corrections you can return to the Review page and click Submit again.

When the application is successfully submitted you will get a confirmation message on the screen. If you don’t receive this message please check with us. When confirmed, you will also see your application number, which you can use if you need to contact us further.

You will also receive a confirmation email when your application is successfully submitted with a copy of your application attached. If you do not receive this message, then you should presume that your application has not been successfully submitted. If this occurs, please check with us.

Your application should be submitted by 4pm Friday 2 March 2018. Please note that late applications will not be accepted.
